Throwing RocksIn May, Bryson and I went to a father-son campout. We had Chase and Jonathan Porter come along with us. Bryson and chase had lots of fun playing ball and throwing rocks in the water. We camped at a nice, tranquil place near a creek. It was a little wet and we had a hard time getting the fire going (that's right - Jonny for the first time in his life had a hard time getting a fire going.) The Master of Fire (Jonny, not Satan) finally got it and we had just enough wood to cook our tin foil dinners and a few s'mores. Bryson was begging to go to bed by the time dinner was done because it was getting so late.

Over Memorial Day Weekend Denise, Bryson, and I made a trip to Preston to go camping with the family. It was nice to get away for a weekend, and especially nice to be home for relaxing rather than running from event to event. My parents had their trailer, but Denise and I still decided to rough it in a tent. We even got rained on one night, but our tent held up pretty well. Bryson loved that we got a bit of four-wheeling in. On the drive back home we stopped at Multnomah Falls to let Bryson see the waterfalls.

It was nice for a couple weeks in May and we took advantage by getting to the beach on the Columbia River. We go to Wintler Park which is only about 15 minutes from our place and has some nice sand. We got pretty dark tans for a while before the clouds moved back in.

Pictures of our May adventures are in the May 2009 album in the gallery.
