front yardAloha, family and friends!

For those of you who haven't heard yet, we're moving back to the great Northwest.... In about a week! We were ready to be closer to family and mountains and tall evergreen trees and well, mostly family, so we put our house up for sale and got an offer just four days later. So, we're signing over our first home together on September 16th, loading up the moving truck, and heading out west. Even though we are seriously stoked to be moving back home, we are all three going to miss Austin. Here are some of the reasons why...

1. The food. Its amazing. If you're never had southern BBQ or real TexMex, you are truly missing out on all that life has to offer. No, really. I think the food is what we'll miss the most about Texas.

2. Our wonderful friends. Zeb, Bryson and I have met some amazing people. It will be really hard to say goodbye to our friends from church- especially the ones we have known since we moved here almost four years ago. There are a few families here who we will always remember and who have been such a help to us with Bryson and life in general. (And we look forward to your moving to the Portland area!) You know who you are and we hope you'll remember us, too.... I'm also finding it hard to say goodbye to my filming friends and everyone else who we've come to love these last few years. Sad..... Okay...... Enough sad.....

3. Being able to swim at least nine months out of the year. We've really enjoyed the lakes, Sea World, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, the Gulf Coast (where the ocean was actually warm enough to swim in), and our time at the pool with friends. I will not, however, miss the grossly humid disgusting weather that made it practically unbearable to be outside if you were NOT swimming... That I'll be glad to leave behind....

4. The food. Wow. It really is life altering. (There is hope our friends will move closer. There is no hope of getting good Texas 'cue in Oregon.)

5. Our beautiful home. It was our first home together and we'll be sad to leave it behind. It was the perfect house for us, and we have created a lot of memories here. Zeb and I have spent almost our entire marriage in this home, and its the home we brought Bryson home from the hospital to. I have a feeling it will be hard to sign the papers that will turn it into someone else's home.

Texas really is a wonderful place and Zeb and I are so glad that we made the decision to move here almost four years ago. We know that it was completely the right choice for us. We have loved our time in Austin, and will truly miss our friends here. Its so hard to move on and leave people behind without knowing when you'll see them again, but we feel that its time to go back home to the northwest and to be closer to family. We hope that everyone will keep in touch, and want you all in Austin to know how much we love you and will miss you.

To those of you in Oregon and Idaho, we are very excited to see you and to be able to spend more time together. We're looking forward to not having to drive at least 24 hours to be with family for the holidays. We'll be moving into our home in Vancouver on September 20th and extend an open invitation to anyone who'd like to come by to come and see us. I know we haven't written an update for a while, and I meant for this to be an article telling all about our last summer in Texas, but I guess I got a little sidetracked with it being our last week in Austin....

So, farewell to our Texas friends, and to those in the northwest, we'll see you soon.

All our love,

Denise, Zeb and Bryson
