Spring 2008

artilleryIts been so long since our last post, I just don't know where to start....

Zeb's sister, Kelsie came to visit from Boise in March. She spent Easter with us, and we went to SeaWorld. It was a great visit. The day she left, my Mom and littlest brother Koa came to spend their Spring Break with us. They helped us celebrate Bryson's third birthday. Its amazing how fast time flies and that he can possibly be that old already. My Dad came for the weekend to see my choir concert, and we all went to SeaWorld (yes, again... It never gets old...) and ate lots of good old Texas barbeque.

In May, my Dad got married to Paula, who added two kids of her own to our family - Becky and Jonathan. I'm excited to add another girl to the family... Zeb, Bryson and I flew up to Portland for the wedding, and a whirlwind weekend visit before hurrying back to take our finals. School ended, and we were glad to be done the summer. I'm used to 12 week terms, and these 16 week semesters here seem never ending to me. Now we are excited to be on summer vacation from classes and homework and all the driving it took to get to school.

Bryson and I are packing our bags and heading up to Idaho and Oregon tomorrow. Bryson will be spending the rest of the summer with Zeb's parents in Idaho and then my parents in Oregon - lucky little guy. He did the same thing last year and had a great time. We miss him already and he hasn't even left us. I guess since we're willing to share him, though....

We took a trip to the coast last weekend so we could do something as a family before Bryson left. We went to Port Aransas. It's on a small island just next to Corpus Christi, TX. After a few minutes of getting used to the weird feeling of sand between your toes, Bryson was content to sit and play with his new shovels and buckets for hours on the beach. We ate a lot of delicious seafood, got a little sunburned, and played on boogie boards in the 85 degree water. The warm ocean almost made us want to stay in Texas forever... Not quite the same as an Oregon beach...

So, Zeb and I are finding it hard to leave Texas behind, even though we really want to be closer to family and love the Northwest. We go back and forth every day on whether we are ready to leave or not, but the plan is still to sell our house and move to Portland towards the end of the summer, or whenever our house sells. For now, plan on seeing us again sometime in August, when we go up to hear my little brother Koa speak at his mission farewell before he heads off to serve in Baltimore, Maryland for two years....

Bryson ShotgunWe also stuck in a couple photos of Bryson and Zeb's new shotgun at the end of the Port Aransas pictures!

Love you all and hope to see you while I'm in town with Bryson. Take care of our little guy this summer while he's away from us....
